Joe Fluke ’86, MS&E, has made the most of his time after graduation. On the bright morning of May 5th, Joe finished the quarter-marathon of his life. Although an avid runner his whole life, he spared no training and preparation for this feat. In the month preceding the charity run, Joe walked back from his 9-5 day job every afternoon instead of catching the shuttle. Spinach had also made its way into Joe’s diet.

The extensive preparation paid off big for the veteran product manager. With the help of a few intermittent banana breaks, Joe ran across the quarter mark into the arms of teary-eyed family and coworkers. We from the Stanford Alumni Association were lucky to witness the glorious moment.

Next spring, Joe is planning to coach his 5-year old daughter’s swim team. Get excited for better things to come from this tremendous, accomplished alumnus.
