Not only is woke back, so is GLEE! In honor of the announced reboot, Flipside came up with some ideas for the direction of the series, complete with songs of course. You’re welcome, Ryan Murphy.

  • “Ain’t in LA,” ADÈLA – The reboot’s opening number: Sam Evans has taken over glee club and wants all its new members to remember that the baddest bitches are in Lima, Ohio.
  • “Naked in Manhattan,” Chappell Roan – As Rachel Berry births Kurt and Blaine’s surrogate baby, she thinks back to her first Broadway show where she was told to “picture everyone naked,” now that she’s the one in just a Mt. Sinai hospital gown, she reflects on how different her life is now.
  • “Expectations,” Olivia Rodrigo – On election night of 2024, Sue Sylvester is watching as her presidential election is shown at her team’s watch party. She has almost won, and has big expectations about what this could mean for the country– a world where Sue C’s injustice, and keeps it that way.
  • “Stateside,” PinkPantheress ft. Zara Larsson – Mercedes Jones, now a big-time pop star, is on tour in Europe while her boyfriend, Sam, stays in Ohio. The two keep missing each other’s calls due to the time difference. Alysa Liu makes a cameo.
  • “Gnarly,” KATSEYE – After being called “unc” by the current New Directions, the original glee club girls set out to prove that they’re still young, complete with choreography. Sung by Rachel, Mercedes, Brittany, Tina, and Quinn (like Manon, Santana is… on hiatus).
  • “Ordinary,” Alex Warren – Blaine serenades his new baby girl, amazed at the overwhelming love of fatherhood. (Along the lines of Finn singing to Quinn’s ultrasound in Season 1).
  • “Hootie Frutti,” KATSEYE – After McKinley’s cafeteria fruits cause a cyclospora outbreak, Brittany decides to hold an educational fundraiser to raise awareness about produce recalls.
  • “Abracadabra,” Lady Gaga – After Blaine accuses Kurt of experiencing twink death, Kurt returns to his Theatricality roots to prove he hasn’t lost his spark.
  • “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” Ariana Grande – Jesse grows jealous of Rachel after her career soars and his remains stagnant. Rachel ugly cries while singing this ballad, waiting for Jesse’s love.
  • “Sue me,” Audrey Hobert – Artie and Tina break up, and Tina unfortunately falls back into the habit of only liking gay guys…this time she’s not as apologetic.
